Environmental Crimes Task Force

About the Rhode Island Attorney General Environmental Crimes Task Force

Reestablished in 2011 by Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin, the mission of the Environmental Crimes Task Force is to enhance the communication among local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to facilitate the successful prosecution of environmental crimes in Rhode Island, identify potential criminal violations of environmental laws, discuss emerging trends in environmental crimes and to establish best practices to ensure the environmental laws of the State are upheld.

Members of the Task Force include representatives from the Office of Attorney General, the Department of Environmental Management, the Rhode Island State Police, Rhode Island Police Chief’s Association, Coastal Resources Management Council, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the United States Attorney’s Office.
