The Information Technology Unit is responsible for all facets of computer operations and telecommunications within the main office and the counties.

Duties include management of:

• Network Security
• File Servers
• Database Servers
• Printers, Multi-Function Printers
• Internet Connectivity
• Intranet Servers
• Over 200 Personal Computers
• Internal Local Area Network

Connectivity to various State agencies via Wide Area Network. This includes the Rhode Island State Police Message Switch (RILETS). I.T. also maintains the connectivity with the court system (BANNER).

The Information Technology Unit conducts internal training on systems and applications, and coordinates outside training when required.
