The Operations Unit is responsible for the purchasing, maintenance and repairs for all Department buildings, equipment, supplies, automobiles, telephone and mail systems. The Director of Operations supervises the switchboard, reception desk and mail function.

The Department of Attorney General is subject to the State Procurement Regulations as set forth by the Department of Administration. All major purchases are coordinated by the Department of Administration, Office of Purchases. Further, the Department participates in the numerous Master Price Agreements negotiated by the Department of Administration. These agreements, which cover such items as office supplies, oil, building materials, office equipment, furniture, etc. make up the majority of the purchasing needs of the Department. All State agencies have limited delegated purchasing authority for "small purchases". This function is handled by the Operations Unit.
