Protect Yourself and Your Children Online
It is indisputable that we live in a world dominated by the Internet and technology. Because of this, kids and teens are becoming victim to more and more online scams. Even worse than online scams is the fact that kids and teens are being targeted by sexual predators. The Office of the Attorney General of Rhode Island wants to express the seriousness of Internet safety by providing you, the public, with some facts and figures. These statistics can be used to help monitor the information your child, students, or friends voluntarily release over the Internet. Remember, once the information is put out there in the cyber world you can never get it back. Just because the information has been deleted from a profile, chat room or website doesn’t mean that it had been deleted off the Internet; there will always be a trace of that information in some capacity.
